Q&A with Stephanie Rice & Kim Hastings

Stephanie Rice is a social worker and owner of Partnering Sponsor Robinson Creek Home Health & Hospice.  Kim Hastings is a Nurse Practitioner at Robinson Creek.

During this live Q&A with Family Members in October of 2022 they answered questions about Home Healthcare.

We discussed ideas and ways to approach a conversation with a parent who’s resistant to getting any extra help, how to get home healthcare through the doctor and how a home healthcare agency can help, along with when and why your parent might need home health.

They also answered questions about who pays for it, how to utilize home health whether your parent is at their home, your home or in an independent, assisted living or memory care community and the many kinds of therapy and medical care that can be provided.

We also learned how home healthcare works with your parent’s doctor and homecare, how many people likely qualify for home health but don’t think they need it or think about requesting it even though it’s usually covered by Medicare.

They also shared insight about what chronic medical conditions may qualify, how home health fits in after a parent’s been in rehab or skilled nursing for a bone break or illness and why it’s important to start preparing for their release from rehab sooner than you might think.
